Meet Our Wound Care Team

 

Virgie Stanley
​Interim Program Director

Virgie received her Associate Degree in Nursing at Mitchell Community College. She has worked previously as an OR nurse for fifteen years, for five of those years, she served as a first assistant for general surgery. She has worked in wound care for the past five years and enjoys all aspects of her work. 

Joseph Miller, MD
Medical Director 

Dr. Joseph Miller is a board-certified surgeon with the Wound Care Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI and completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.  He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and General Vascular Surgery.

Brittany Ellenburg, NP

Brittany received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Western Carolina University and received a graduate degree at East Tennessee State University with a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds a National Board Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She specializes in Wound Care and Treatment of Venous Reflux. 

Donna Hager

Donna holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has been a Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse for 21 years. Donna has recently returned to the mountains of Western North Carolina and is passionate about wound care.

Jill Elders

Jill is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of healthcare experience including Home Health, ICU, and Renal nursing. Jill is a nationally Certified Wound Care (WCC) nurse. Jill loves to provide hands-on clinical care to patients and families. Jill plans to earn a Diabetic Wound Certificate in October of 2017. Jill states “I have enjoyed wound care since I was exposed to it as a nursing student.”

Kia Romine

Kia is a Registered Nurse with over 29 years of healthcare experience. Kia holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kia’s nursing experience includes outpatient preoperative care, endoscopy, and post anesthesia care. Kia’s training in wound care comes from competency achieved in home health and Ormond Beach Wound Care Center where she managed wounds for over 5 years. Kia plans to earn her National Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy this year.

Donna Cutshaw

Donna is the Front Office Coordinator for the Wound Care Center. Donna has over 16 years of healthcare secretarial experience and will be starting classes to obtain her Nursing Assistant Certification in August of 2017. Donna really enjoys her role in Wound Care and states, “This is a great group to work with; the work can be challenging at times, but it is worth it”!
