Dr. Elena Messina Joins Haywood Regional Medical Center

Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) welcomes Elena Messina, MD, to its staff. Dr. Messina will be offering family medicine care to patients throughout Haywood County and beyond. Her specialties include: annual, school and sports physicals, hypertension, chronic and acute illnesses, immunizations and vaccines, minor conditions and injuries, diabetes, well woman care, and preventative and mental health.
Dr. Messina recently completed a residency through Shenandoah Valley Family Medicine Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, VA.
“I spent a few years in the corporate financial world, and I found it did not fit my desire to help people,” shared Dr. Messina. “I’m excited to help my new community in Western North Carolina with family health needs.”
