Haywood Regional Medical Center to Host Free Lunch and Learn on Palliative Care, Hospice, and Advanced Care Planning
April 4, 2025

Haywood Regional Medical Center invites community members to a free Lunch and Learn event on Wednesday, April 16th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the second-floor classroom of the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center.
This educational event will feature two expert speakers: Molly Behan, MHA, CLE, from Four Seasons, The Care You Trust, and DeLisa Ensley, Patient Care Liaison with Haywood Hospice and Palliative Care. Lunch will be provided free of charge to all registered attendees.
Molly Behan will provide valuable insight into palliative care, hospice services, and grief support, helping attendees understand the differences between these services and how they can support patients and families through serious illness and end-of-life care. DeLisa Ensley will guide attendees through the Five Wishes, a nationally recognized tool for documenting healthcare preferences that goes beyond medical treatment to include emotional and spiritual wishes.
“These conversations can be challenging, but they’re also empowering,” said Haywood Regional Medical Center CEO, Chris Brown. “Knowing your options and sharing your wishes brings peace of mind to both patients and families.”
Conversations about palliative care, hospice, and advanced care planning are essential for ensuring that individuals receive care aligned with their values and wishes. These discussions empower patients and families to make informed decisions before a crisis occurs, reduce stress during medical emergencies, and help ensure dignity and clarity during serious illness or end-of-life care.
Pre-registration is required. To reserve your spot, please contact Lilly Ferguson at (770) 776-7291 or Lillian.ferguson@lifepointhealth.net.
