June 5, 2024
Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Christine Kryger, a highly skilled Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, to its medical staff. Kryger brings extensive experience in pulmonary, sleep medicine, and infectious disease to HRMC.
Kryger has been practicing since 2019 at Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center in Sylva, a department of Harris Regional Hospital, where she has managed chronic pulmonary diseases, acute respiratory infections, and various sleep disorders while providing thorough patient and family education. With a background that includes roles as a Case Manager NP at Navihealth/Humana and an Acute Care NP at Upstate Lung and Critical Care Specialists, Kryger is committed to patient safety, effective multidisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional development. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and is ANCC-certified.
"We are thrilled to welcome Christine Kryger to our medical staff," said Chris Brown, Haywood Regional Medical Center CEO. "Her expertise in pulmonary care, sleep medicine, and infectious disease will be invaluable to our team and will undoubtedly enhance the care we provide to our patients."
The addition of Kryger to the HRMC medical staff allows for the reopening of Pulmonary Associates of WNC in Clyde, providing access to pulmonary care in Haywood County, as well as enhancing the sleep medicine offerings provided through Western Carolina Cardiology. Kryger will see patients daily in the clinic, located at 560 Leroy George Drive directly behind the hospital. She will maintain a clinical relationship with Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center of Sylva, where she has practiced for over five years with Angela Connaughton, MD, Gregory Brown, MD, Jodie Wade, FNP, and Leah Seiger, NP.
Both Pulmonary Associates of WNC and Harris Pulmonary and Sleep Center provide a wide range of diagnostic evaluations, including pulmonary function testing, sleep studies, and comprehensive evaluations for conditions such as asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, and interstitial lung diseases. Patients of the clinics receive expert consultations, disease management, and therapeutic interventions aimed at improving respiratory function, enhancing sleep quality, and promoting overall well-being. Additionally, the clinics emphasize patient education and ongoing support to empower individuals in managing their conditions effectively and achieving optimal health outcomes.
