Welcome new providers to Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists; celebrate the return of Gerald King, MD

Haywood Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Abby Maxwell, MD and Charles Maloy, MD to Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists. Maxwell and Maloy join Paul Cutting, MD, Benjamin Debelak, DO, and Kelly Klein, PA-C at the practice which is located at 581 Leroy George Drive, Suite 300 in Clyde. Dr. Maxwell completed a fellowship in sports medicine at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. She completed medical school at the New York Medical College after graduating from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Most recently, Dr. Maxwell worked at Charles DePaolo Orthopaedics in Asheville, North Carolina
Dr. Maloy completed a fellowship in orthopaedic surgery sports medicine at the Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute in Elmwood, Louisiana. He completed medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and did his residency with the Indiana University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr(s) Maxwell and Maloy’s arrival coincides with the return of long-time orthopaedic surgeon Gerald King. Dr. King retired in early summer but will be returning November 4 to care for the community at Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists in Clyde.

Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists also offer an orthopaedic walk in clinic for treatment of extremity injuries, broken bones, sprains, sports related injuries among other orthopaedic injuries. The walk-in clinic is available Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 4 pm and on Friday’s from 7:30 am – 11 am. No appointment required.
